William Ricketts

Recently finished work with producer Vince McMillan, composing music for the third season of the hit TVNZ show “Kura”. I recently completed a teaching post as a senior tutor at Massey University Wellington “Creative Media Productions”. Teaching the aspects of post production in sound, using the DAW Pro tools.

William Ricketts is an award-winning stage and studio composer, with over 20 years of experience in creative collaboration and composition of music for film and television, museum installations, and advertising.

William’s portfolio of work demonstrates a talent for the eclectic and the esoteric; a creative versatility in enhancing, and embellishing mood, ambiance across genres. “William Ricketts Music To Picture” focuses on commercial production including scoring, recording, mixing, and mastering to brief.

Drawing on experience making music with contemporaries The Phoenix Foundation, Fat Freddys Drop, Neil Finn, Lord Echo, Connan Mockasin (supporting Radio Head in Australasia and Crowded house in Europe) Julien Dyne, and many other acts. In recent years working as a freelancer for production companies across Aotearoa/New Zealand. Working with Puck Murphy, Angus Muir Design, Storybox, VMLY&R, Scoring music for light and sound exhibitions for Museums and councils around NZ, advertising and TV. Notably “Mauri Activator” centre piece of the “Te Tao” exhibition at Te Papa.
